Let’s see what the community has been up to on the switchboard this week. We got three posts.
David is looking to fill up some commercial space in downtown Springfield. Based on the post, it looks like he is really involved with the revitalization effort over there. It’s definitely worth checking out if you are looking to fill about 2,800 square feet
It looks like David (a different David) has need of a WordPress / Generic Blog developer. He’s a “local political activist and artist” looking for a home for his art and writings, and is willing to pay.
Finally, John is looking for some help with a VR project. He is the the Director of the Northwest Screendance Exposition, and is looking to get his patrons a front row seat – no matter where they are
Definitely fewer events this week then there were last week, that’s not to say there isn’t some cool stuff going on.
Wednesday, February 7th
First the usual (but still awesome stuff). Game Dev Coffee Meetup, and the Elm meetup (which happens twice a month!).
Open Mentor hours are happening at Fertilab Springfield this week! A great opportunity for entrepreneurs!
Also worth noting, Hack Salem is not having it’s meetup this month due to scheduling conflicts.
Thursday, February 8th
Thursday starts with another awesome event from the Eugene InDesign User Group, this time about “Responding to Rip-Offs”. It’s bound to be an interesting topic and discussion.
Also, RAIN is having their coffee meetup at 942 Olive. This is actually the earliest in the month it can possibly happen, since it pops up every third Thursday.
Friday, February 9th
Friday is nice and light, but still cool stuff.
The wonderfully named Lane Connect Networking, Eugene OR. Networking at it Purist, is having their monthly networking meeting.
Open Hack night is also going on. It happens every Tuesday and Friday, and I really don’t think it gets talked about enough. They have some really awesome equipment over there.
Tuesday, February 13th
Skipping all the way ahead to Tuesday. For right now, if the event isn’t on Meetup then it’s not on my radar. (You can also tell me on Slack: http://www.eugslack.com)
Of course, Tuesday isn’t Tuesday without Tech Tuesday.
There are a couple of really interesting events happening. First is a Lane Art Council Workshop all about the Fundamentals of fundraising. Only 20 bucks to get in is pretty good too
Second is Eugene-Springfield Startups’ “Food Business Unpacked: Marketing Innovations” event. I always love seeing business that don’t make computers or software get some love from the small business scene
And finally, again, it’s Open hack Night at the Eugene Maker Space. Check it out
I write this in Google Docs, then copy it over to the blog. So, if you want to check out the original Google Doc without this bloggy formatting, here you go. I’ll provide this every week:
